Hello There,

There are things we grow up around that we don’t realize are shaping us until much later.

For me, that was recovery.

I was raised in a family where addiction and healing lived side by side. I didn’t always understand it at the time, I was just a daughter watching her father, her family, do the brave work of staying sober one day at a time.

It wasn’t until years later that I could see how deeply witnessing my family go through recovery programs (like Alcoholics Anonymous) had informed the way I meet life.

Watching my dad choose responsibility.
Watching him show up, again and again, even when it was uncomfortable.
Watching him surrender in strength.
Rooted in a willingness to tell the truth.
A willingness to let go of control.
A willingness to take the next right step.

Those lessons came from a lived example.
And now, my Dad is 54 years sober.
It’s been a beautiful thing to watch unfold,
and I’ve returned to those early teachings more than I ever expected.

I share more about this part of my story on the Ed Mylett Show, opening my heart about my upbringing, my relationship with my dad, and how recovery shaped my understanding of being human.

I invite you to watch below.

THIS WEEK’S INQUIRY

Let’s pause for a moment and reflect:

  • Are you witnessing someone move through healing of addiction right now?

  • What has this journey taught you, whether you're holding space or being held? Patience? Acceptance? The willingness to let go?

  • Is there a pattern or habit you're ready to release? Something you've been carrying that simply no longer serves?

Join us at our Time to Rise Summit this week, see below for details.

Love,
Sage Robbins 🪷
