Hello there, lovely ones,
For years of my life I've overvalued the masculine energy.
The doing, the producing, the tasks, and the pushing forward.
I was extraordinarily capable, yet at times quietly disconnected from a softer, more receptive, open part of myself that is just as much me.
If you are nodding right now, whether you are a woman or a man, I imagine you know what I’m talking about.
Many of us as human beings have become uber capable at carrying just about everything. Managing it. Holding it all together.
And wondering why something still feels like it's missing…
For most of my life, the vulnerability of being open, being seen, being truly available made me uncomfortable. And yet, at this stage of my life, I find myself being called forward.
Masculine energy can feel so good in its clarity, its pragmatism, its directness, and its ability to create structure and move things forward.
What I notice now is a deeper integration, an accessibility to all of my parts.
Allowing all of me a seat at the table makes life feel more fulfilling from the inside out.
And here’s what’s true: I’m a feminine woman and, at times, I feel as male as I feel female. And that realization may be one of the most freeing understandings I've ever come to know about myself.
We've been so innocently conditioned to look at the external, to change the outside. But really, masculine and feminine energies aren't outside of us.
They are innate and alive within all of life. A way of being. Regardless of the body we came in, we're meant to be whole.
As an example, I'm not really a baby shower kind of a gal. And yet I love beautiful things. A piece of music, flowers, fabrics, textures, scents and all that we allow ourselves to receive.

I've been a giver as long as I can remember, I love lighting others up. But I recognize I've been imbalanced at times. So these days, I invite myself to linger, to enjoy, and take in the moment differently than I once would have in a rush to output.
The masculine in me is a beast! (And I mean that in the most loving way.) I'm laughing at myself right now as I type this. I've really learned how to hone her. She is fierce. She protects. She builds. She holds the family structure.
The feminine in me loves to play, to laugh, to dance, to EAT, to savor, and linger in simple things…
Every day before our daughter goes to school, we exchange something from nature. A flower petal, and I’ll put a leaf, a rock, a curious stick.
She takes what I offer her into the world and I keep a bowl in the kitchen filled with every shell, feather, and dried goodie she has ever given me. That is the quiet superpower of the feminine.
What I notice now is that so much suffering I've witnessed in myself and others comes from making one of these energies wrong.
Demonizing the masculine as too powerful, or something to fear, and demonizing the feminine as weak, sensitive, or something to diminish when both intrinsic energies are sacred, necessary, and meant to be expressed, embodied, lived, and enjoyed.

What if the masculine and the feminine are meant to dance together, internally and externally, each offering its gifts to one another. That is wholeness, and we don't have to choose. We simply get to access these God given gifts within.

I've shared more on YouTube — including the small daily rituals that help me move from doing —> into being.
I'd love to hear from you. Is this something you’ve wrestled with, or come home to in your own way? Write to me.
With love,
Sage 🪷
P.S. As I'm sitting here taking one last pass through this edition, I'm listening to our daughter and her little homeschool pod embracing the gift of music, in its percussive beats and charming harmonies. Structure and flow.
There's something beautifully musical about masculine and feminine dancing together. Today our home is filled with the sweet voices of high pitched little humans chirping Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
