Hello from here to there,

You might not believe it about me, but I’m an introvert.

I’ve always loved creating behind the scenes.

There I would be somewhere in the wings, supporting, producing, co-creating the miracles from the back of the room. I loved it there, and the truth is, I still do.

That is a very real part of my nature, to be a wingman.

But somewhere along the way, I innocently took one aspect of myself and allowed it to become the whole truth of me.

Because I loved supporting from behind the scenes. Because I preferred the intimacy of one-on-one. Because I was more introverted, I came to believe I was someone who didn’t want to be seen.

“That’s just who I am,” I would tell myself.

Have you ever done this?

Believed something about yourself for so long that you stopped considering what else might be true?

A label rarely arrives as a decision. It arrives as a description, and we agree with it.

And when I really look at that, the truth is nobody else denied me quite like I did. No one had to hold me back. I had been doing it for years.

🪷 We are larger than the labels we put on ourselves. Larger than the ones we adopt through our conditioning, our upbringing, our culture.

There’s a beautiful freedom in moving beyond who we thought we were supposed to be.

Over this past decade, I’ve claimed more of me and let go of a lot that no longer serves. I am the woman who feels completely at home beside the stage, and the woman who walks onto it.

Both are true. Neither one is the whole.

…And there’s a moment where you think: “Oh. There I am.”

Here’s a video I’d love to share with you as you explore the roles and labels and identities that you place upon yourself…

THIS WEEK’S REFLECTION
I invite you to notice the sentences that follow the words I AM…
"I am the responsible one." "I am shy." "I am not good at that." "I am someone who always…"

When you catch one, gently ask:

  • Is this the whole truth of who I am, or simply one aspect of me?

  • What becomes possible if I let myself meet the other parts of me that have been quietly waiting?

With love,
Sage 🪷
